Core of Knowledge: Physical Needs - Facility Hospice Care Waivers (October 2025)
As the population in the US ages and as new medical break through are enabling people to live longer, ARF’s will find that they are retaining older clients. Regulations state that individuals in ARF’s can stay in their home if there is a hospice care waiver. This class will discuss hospice, the procedure for applying for hospice car waiver and duties and responsibilities of licensee and care home staff if they choose to retain somebody who is terminally ill.
By the end of the course, participants will:
a. Understand who will require hospice
b. Know the process for applying for hospice care waiver
c. Duties and responsibilities prior to providing hospice care
d. Duties and responsibilities to be provided during hospice care
